Abagail was the daughter of Peter Hall and Rebecca Bartholomew Hall and married Lieut. Hawkins Hart February 12, 1761. They moved from Wallingford (Perhaps the section of Wallingford then known as Meriden) to Barkhamsted Hollow in 1789, where their family lived until 1932.

The Harts had nine children: Rebecca (November 23, 1761 - Married Joel Cook), Josiah Hall (June 3, 1764 -- Married Phoebe Hall January 14, 1790), Hannah (September 20, 1766 -- married Joel Parker), Aaron (February 8, 1770 -- married Annis Austin), Hiel (July 25, 1772 -- married Parker), Abagail (February 1, 1775 - February 20, 1775, aged 20 days), Abagail, 2nd (June 8, 1778), Hawkins (January 28, 1781 -- married Lois Slade December 5, 1805), Jerre (October 11, 1784 -- married Ives).
