    BRADENTON, Fla. - G. Frank Bly, of California Street, Bradenton, and formerly of Freeport, Maine, and Litchfield, Maine, died on June 6, 2010, at the Tidewell Hospice in West Bradenton after a brief illness.

    He was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Lewiston, Maine, the son of George H. Bly and Florence Avery Bly. He was educated in Lewiston and Litchfield schools and also briefly in Vermont.

    He was married for 25 years to Ezalee Audrey Gates. The couple made their home in Litchfield and had five children, during which time he was employed by Soule Glass & Paint Co. in Lewiston and Portland, Maine.

    After his wife's death in 1968, Frank married the former Florris Johnston Ricker.

    In addition to his wife, Florris, of Bradenton, he is survived by two sons, George E. Bly, of Osprey, and James Bly, of Freeport; three daughters, Susan Grover, of Belgrade Lakes, Maine, Anne O'Mara, of Ipswich, Mass., and Kathryn Roy, of Freeport; two sisters, Elsie Durgin and Eleanor Leonard; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a stepson, Rick Ricker, of Litchfield; three stepdaughters, Joycelyn Anderson, of Baltimore, Nancy Siegel of Belmont, N.H., and North Port, and Sharon Heavener, of Port Charlotte.

    He was predeceased by a brother, Newell; and two sisters, Christine Cribbin and Dorothy Dodge.

    Family and friends will gather for a time of reflection and prayer at Litchfield Plains Cemetery.

    George married Ezalee Audrey Gates on 10 Mar 1945 in Litchfield, Kennebec County, Maine. Ezalee (daughter of Edgar Glendon Gates and Ezalee Audrey Hall) was born on 7 Nov 1925 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts; died on 16 Apr 1968 in Augusta, Kennebec County, Maine; was buried after 16 Apr 1968 in Litchfield Plains Cemetery, Litchfield, Kennebec County, Maine.
