The year of birth entered above is by backdating based on her age recorded as 52 years in the Sutton death records. Rhode Island is identified as the place of her birth in the Hall family genealogy on Pg. 655 of the History of Sutton, 1704-1876.

On Pg. 58 of Vol. 1 of the Vital Records of Rhode Island, 1636-1899 (images accessible on Ancestry and americanancestors.org), there is record of Almy Greene marrying William Hammett in Warwick on Nov. 9, 1800. The corresponding record for William Hammett on Pg. 61 of that same volume has her name as Amey Greene and identifies her as the daughter of Christopher (Greene).

William Hammett died in Cranston, RI, on May 17, 1806.

On Pg. 61 of that same volume there is record of Almy Hammett marrying William Hall in Warwick on March 27, 1808.

Research by others identifies her mother as Abigail Davis and refines the place of birth to the Apponaug section of Warwick. No record has been located to confirm.
