    UXBRIDGE - C. Jasper Palmer, 87, a decorated World War II veteran and retired carpenter, died Friday, Jan. 5, in St. Camillus Health Care Center, Whitinsville.

    He leaves his wife of 59 years, Beverly A. (Eames) Palmer; two sons, Reed W. Palmer of Worcester and Curtis C. Palmer of Uxbridge; a daughter, Jean A. Burton of Livermore, Calif.; a brother, Clarence Palmer of Uxbridge; two sisters, Morene Blanchard of Uxbridge and Ada Scuncio of Warwick, R.I.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was born in Uxbridge, son of William M. and Ada E. (Murdock) Palmer, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He received the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

    Mr. Palmer was a carpenter 10 years at the former George Guertin Contractor in Linwood, retiring in 1978. He previously worked at Jordan Builders in Framingham, and was a weaver and loom fixer at Waucantuck Mills.

    The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, in Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, in Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St.
