Mr. Albert E. Gurley was born in Mansfield, CT. He received his education in the common schools in Mansfield and in the Wilbraham Academy, Wilbraham, MA. His occupation was farming and silk manufacturing. He retired from business in 1890 and
resided in Willimantic, CT as of 1907. While living in Willimantic, he wrote the History and Genealology of the Gurley Family, 1668 to 1897.
