Notes: He went to Pittston / Pittstown to work as a shoemaker when he was a young man. There he met and married Rhoda Ward on 28 Nov 1801 in Pittstown, Renseelear Co., NY . Rhoda was born 1 Oct 1777 in Buckland/Bucklin, MA. They first lived at Paris, NY. Then in 1805, after traveling for three weeks from Pittston to Fredonia, they moved to Pomfret and settled on Lot 6 when there was only two houses in Fredonia, this is where his wife, Rhoda, died in May 1815. He returned to Buckland, MA where he married 2 Oct 1815 to Belvidera / BelvaderiaBelinda Carter. Belvidera was born in Pillsborgh Frontenae Co. Upper Canada 21 Mar 1793. They returned to Fredonia on horseback. "He sold his farm and bought a paper mill at Laona, [NY]. He was an early and prominent member of the Baptist Church, and a zealous and steady promoter of its interests. Mr. Burnham moved to Union Mills, Erie Co. PA where he died 27 Sep 1863, and was taken to Lakeview Cemetery, Jamestown, 27 Apr 1864 by the side of his two sons Levi and George." (From--History of Chaut. Belvaderia was born on 21 Mar 1793 in Pillsborough, Frontenae County, Upper Canada, Canada; died on 27 Aug 1882 in Kiantone, Chautauqua County, New York; was buried after 27 Aug 1882 in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, Chautauqua County, New York.
