"Mrs. Julia E. Wakeley, widow of the late Justice Charles Wakeley, died at 7 o'clock this morning at the residence of Mrs. M. F. Hanchett at 322 West Washington avenue....Death was due to cancer in the chest....Mrs. Wakeley was about 70 years of age and has lived in Madison for 30 years....The burial will be held at Whitewater, in the Wakeley family lot on Friday, under Episcopalian auspices...."

Ruth B. Govostes, age 79, of Dothan, died Monday, December 25, 2000.

Private services will be held at a later date. Byrd Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Govostes was born March 3, 1922 in Columbus, Ohio and lived there several years prior to moving to Detroit, Michigan. She was employed with the Foundation for Exceptional Children for 20 years before retiring in 1972 and had lived in Dothan for the past 18 years. Mrs. Govostes was of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors include her husband, Alexander Govostes, of Dothan; and a brother, Arthur S. Hall, of El Paso, Texas.
