Rebecca was the daughter of Tristam Copp and Martha Horn. In 1776 Tristam was chosen as a selectman for Lebanon, ME at their first town meeting. In 1791 Tristam and family, along with four of his brothers moved to Tuftonboro, NH.

She and her younger brother Moses were both baptized on Sep 3, 1773 in Lebanon, ME.

On Oct 2, 1794 in Wolfborough, NH she married Samuel G. Piper, son of Thomas Piper and Abigail Evans.

They had a daughter Susan.

Age: 78yrs 7mos 20dys (per headstone)
Age: 87yrs 7mos 22dys (per all other records)

The age at death was incorrect on the headstone.

The birth records for Sep 3, 1773 in Lebanon, ME for Rebecca and brother Moses, were recordings of their baptism date.

There is a 1906 birth record form for her in Tuftonboro, NH but it lists her name as Rebecca Piper, born Aug 10, 1769 in Tuftonboro. This was a clerical mistake while transferring old town books to the new forms. In many towns in the very old days sometimes they would list everyone in each household, along with their date of birth, but not listing a town of birth. In 1906 someone miss-read that and wrote a form for Rebecca with her married name and incorrectly listed her as born in Tuftonboro, NH.
