Notes:
From FindaGrave:
Marion Henderson Hall was born and raised in Millville, NJ.
She was married to William Stanton Hall of Vineland, NJ. They had 5 children, William Irving Hall (d. 1972), Ralph Hall, (d. 1925 age 1) Marion ("Marie") Hall (Altomare) (d. 2004), Allen Stanton Hall (d. 1988) and Gordon Wilson Hall (d. 2006).
Marion dedicated herself to her husband and children as a devoted wife and mother, during peace and wartime.
Her husband, William, served during WWI in France, and spent one year as a volunteer during WWII in service away from his family. Mr. Hall was a carpenter and builder by trade and the family moved several times, traveling around the Eastern United States wherever opportunities for work arose, particularly during the depression years.
When their children were grown, the couple moved to Clearwater, Florida, in 1956, where they retired on a lakefront property on beautiful Lake Bellevue. There, they enjoyed 15 years together before Mr. Hall died in 1971. Mr. Hall is buried in Clearwater Municipal Cemetery in Florida, very close to the lake and home he loved.
A few years after Mr. Hall's death, Marion followed a dream and moved from Florida back to New Jersey where she spent 17 years a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean in the family resort community of Ocean City on the Jersey Shore. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, and remained strong and resilient all of her life, having survived three of her five children. She challenged herself intellectually. She relished crossword puzzles, and playing word games, especially the board game "Scrabble" with her friends and family. When her health began to decline, Mrs. Hall moved to Medford in Burlington County New Jersey in 1987 to be closer to her nearby children and grandchildren. She clung to her independence, however and still managed a semblance of it by settling in her own apartment for a few years, until a fall precipitated more dependence on others. She then moved to a senior facility in 1993 at the age of 91. She died six months later on the day after her beloved Christmas in 1993. She remained incredibly mentally sound and strong in spite of her numerous pysical problems at this point. She was visiting with family and discussing current events just hours before her death later that very night.
