Mrs Edith Chloe Hall Cote, 86
Edith Chloe (Hall) Cote, 86, died in Manor Care of Dunedin, Dunedin, Fla, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, after a brief illness. She was the widow of William E. Cote.
A Florida resident for only six months, she was a lifetime resident of Raynham, having lived for the past 25 years in Pine Hill Estates. She was a graduate of Taunton High School.
For more than 25 years Mrs. Cote worked as an operator and clerk for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Company.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Raynham Council on Aging.
Mrs. Cote served in the U. S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 as a communications specialist in the Office of the Vice Chief of Naval Operations in Washington, DC. Her military rank was that of communications specialist, first class.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Raynham (Stone Church).
Mrs. Cote leaves two daughters, Barbara Roy and her husband Roger of New Port Richey, Fla., and Margaret "Peggy" Cote and her husband Gary Arnott of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a brother and his wife, George and June Hall of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren, Myra Baroni, Aaron Baroni, Michael Roy and Matthew Roy; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Camara and Juliana Baroni.
She was the long-time companion of the late Ralph Isenor of Raynham.
Her funeral service was held Wednesday, July 23 in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. in Taunton. Interment followed in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
