    Isabel was the daughter of John Tripp and Mary Paine of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She was married in Portsmouth on 4 March 1674/5 to Samson Sherman, the son of immigrant Philip Sherman and Sarah Odding. Isabel is assumed to have died by 1716 when she was not mentioned in the will of her husband. She and Samson had seven known children, six of whom grew to maturity and had families.

    The burial location for Isabel and Samson has not been determined.
