    Notes:

    From FindaGrave:

Charles Edgar "EDDIE" Nosler was second of five children born to Civil War veteran Lt. James Milo Nosler and Sarah Ann Snyder (Nosler). He himself was a Spanish American War veteran who served in the Philippines, and apparently while there, became quite fond of a small town called "Pateros." This experience affected him to such a degree, that he named a northern Washington state [Okanogan County] trading post "Ives Landing" after the same town, which bears the name "Pateros" since 1913, according to town historians. The name "Pateros" literally means "one who raises ducks." In Pateros, Philippines, ducks outnumber man 4:1. A delicacy in that culture is a fertilized duck egg called "BALUT."

He was the owner of an Oakland, CA grocery which was rather successful until the early/middle great depression.

Charles died in 1937 at age 66, reportedly of a stomach cancer, according to his second son (3rd child of 5), Mark Covington Nosler, veteran of World War II, a U.S. Navy cryptographer who served in the South Pacific, and, was also an attorney from Boalt Hall, Berkeley, CA.

    His children were:

-Charles Edgar "Ned" Nosler Jr 1906 –  1978
-Katherine Ann "Kassie" Nosler (Rutherford) 1908 –  1996
    -Mark Covington Nosler 1910 –  1989
    -Robert James Nosler 1916 –  1940
    -Margaret CAROLINE Nosler (Holcomb) 1919 –  2004
