From FindaGrave:
Died -On Tuesday night, August 8, "1882, of typhoid malarial fever, after a lingering sickness, Fred H. Williams, aged twenty-three years. The interment took place on Wednesday afternoon, at the new cemetery, north of the Agency.
The deceased was born August 28th, 1859, in Humboldt county, Iowa, and afterward removed with his parents to Muscatine, Iowa, and in 1870 the familv came to this Agency, for the past twelve years having been residents here. Several different times Fred has been in the Agent's employ, and faithfully and conscientiously performed his duty.
He was for a time acting superintendent of the Cheyenne school, then went out in the Panhandle and, with his uncle as a partner, invested in cattle. Selling his herd, he attended Bloomington (Ills.) college for two years ; and on his return, taught lor a while in the Arapahoe school. His last business venture was as the head of the firm of Williams & Co., merchants, of Red Fork ranch. Deceased was a single man of very high character, and was universally beloved among a large circle of acquaintances. He was quiet, very industrious and saving, and paid his own way through school and college. None have but a kindly word for him and expression of sorrow for his demise. His death has caused a feeling of gloom to settle over our community, and the greatest sympathy is extended the bereaved ones who have lost a dutiful son and a loving brother.
