Notes:

72 yrs. Son of Thomas & Grace. Town Clerk of Surry, NH for 25 consecutive years. Built and ran a saw mill and grist mill. Was also Town Moderator, Treasurer Selectman. "He was a noted penman, and the town records kept by him were not excelled in neatness and orderliness by any in the State." He learned to write on birch bark. His death was noted in the press -- "The death of Mr. Harvey, although he was advanced in years, will be a real loss, as he ever possessed the full confidence of his neighbors and townsmen. Besides other offices, he was chosen Town Clerk for the last 25 years in succession. An honest man is the noblest work of God."
