He was a farmer. Also quite active in Town offices: Rep to Vt State Leg. from Isle La Motte. He drowned carrying the mail from Alburgh. Vt. to Isle La Motte, in horse and buggy, crossing Lake Champlain, on the ice with Henry Pike, who also drowned.
