    Aquila Purchase was almost certainly brother of THOMAS PURCHASE, of Joan Purchase who married BERNARD CAPEN, and of the wife of George Way (see sketchof THOMAS PURCHASE for details.

    The daughter of Aquilla and Ann (Squire) Purchase [ref. Great Migration Begins], she was baptized Aug. 6, 1626 and married Gameliel Phippen of Boston before 1649.

    "About 1870 some old gravestones were dug up in Carlton Place near Eliot St., Boston, one bearing the inscription: 'Here lyeth buried ye body of Sarah Phippen, ye wife of Gamaliel Phippen, aged 55 yrs. Died January ye 17 ____'".

    The year of her death was probably about 1682/3.

Phoebe was md. to Nehemiah Millard on March 3, 1696/7 in Rehoboth by the Rev. Mr. Greenwood (they'd filed intentions on February 3, 1696/7). Their children were:
