Suggested edit: Eddy has never been proven to be her maiden name. Her parents were not John Eddy and Amy Doggett, who, with their daughter Mary, came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Our Mary came with the husband she married in England, Thomas Horton/Orton, on the Mary & John, along with their first child, Mary Horton and Thomas' brother Jeremiah. This was derived from the daughter of John and Amy Doggett Eddy, who came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony with a daughter Mary. But our Mary was already married and had a child by Thomas Horton, whom she had married in England, when she arrived in the colonies.
