    Notes:

    From FindaGrave:

From Branford, Ct. Isaac served the British military in the 2nd or 3rd company of His Majesty's Service. He survived the devastating casualty count of "Braddock's Defeat" just months before in a failed British military expedition attempting to capture the French Fort Duquesne (modern-day downtown Pittsburgh). Major Isaac Foote was one of but a few that were able to retreat from the battle along the Monongahela River (9th July 1755) during the oddly named 'French and Indian War' (1754– 1765), also known in Europe as the 'Seven Year War' (1757 to 1762). He wrote letters to his wife from Fort Crailo while he lie gravely ill, foretelling his possible death in upcoming battles that he would never attend, lest he succumb to sickness in their stead.
