Tate--At Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on Friday, October 1, 1880, after a protracted illness of many months, Thomas Simpson Tate, of Tate county, Mississippi, aged 64 years. His remains were buried at Senatobia, Tate county, Mississippi, yesterday afternoon. He had resided in that neighborhood over forty years, and was a native of Overton County, Tennessee.

Colonel Thomas Simpson Tate, a prominent and widely known citizen of Tate county, Mississippi, died at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on the 1st inst., and will be buried today at Senatobia. He was a brother of Colonel Sam Tate, a native of Overton county, Tennessee and had lived in Mississippi over forty years an honored and useful citizen. His death will be deplored far and wide, and keenly felt by his family and intimate friends.
