  From FindaGrave: Ethel was the daughter of John Mack [Grier] and Jane Davis, from Ohio and Michigan respectively. Ethel married on Jan. 9 1896 in Nevada, Story County, IA. She was the second wife of Albert Louis Hall, who was born in 1850 in Connecticut, the son of Ephraim Hall and Louisa Plimpton. He had two children from his previous marriage: 1. Jessie, b. about Aug. 1883-4 2. Herman W., b. about March 1886 With Ethel they had children all born in Ames: 3. Phyllis, b. Oct 1894, wed Clyde Mason 4. Mabel M., b. Dec. 1896-7, public school teacher 5. Myrtle Marguerite, b. July 9, 1899, wed John T. Olsen 6. Ruth Alberta, b. Feb. 5, 1901, public school teacher 7. Violet Virginia, b. Oct. 21, 1904, public school teacher 8. Dorothy, b. about 1908, housekeeper 9. Irma, b. about 1910, maid They had a farm in Washington Township, outside of Ames. By the 1925-30 censuses, widowed Ethel owned a rooming house on 217 Welch, Ames, and had five of her daughters living there.
