    • From FindaGrave:

      Revolutionary War Veteran
      ******
From Find a Grave Contributor Nancy (Zeise) Cloutier (#47605741):

Simeon Hodges is my ggggg grandfather. I sent a letter to the Savoy, MA, town clerk looking for information on an Isaac Hodges. This is my reply - July 22, 2008, "Dear Nancy Cloutier: I have checked our town records for information on Isaac Hodges and do not find a birth date for him. Records do show that Simeon Hodges was married at least two times during his lifetime and if Isaac was also a son, he must have been married a third time as well. Here is what I found: Simeon Hodges was a Revolutionary War Veteran. Simeon Hodges married Mrs. Patty (or Polly) Burnett on 9/30/1794. They had six children, none of them Isaac, Samuel - 1795, Ruth - 1798, Sally -1802, Joshua Burnet - 1805, Erastus - 1808 and Irwin Cullen - 1817 or 1818. They settled in Savoy Hollow, a section of Savoy. I have no record of Mrs. Hodges dying in Savoy or anywhere. Simeon Hodges married again (no date found), Sarah (no last name found). Sarah was born in Norton, Mass on 1/20/1749 and died in Savoy on 6/6/1818 at age 69. She was buried next to her husband in the Babbitt Burial Ground."

      **********
Per Norton, Bristol County, MA Vital Records: Simeon Hodges (Memorial ID: 71104142 ) born June 4, 1740, son of Samuel and Ruth Hodges, married Susannah (Cobb) on July 4, 1765. Susannah was born Jan 1, 1747-8, the ch. of William and Anne Cobb. Their children born in Norton: ( married elsewhere)
      i. Samuel Hodges b. Nov. 12, 1766, (Mem. ID: 82883280)d. at Winfield NY on Jan. 20, 1838; married on Oct . 12, 1794 his ( 1st ) wife Lydia (Bradley), b. on Sep 28, 1775 at Lee MA, she d. at Winfield NY on Jun -22, 1862.
iii. Simeon b. Jan 28, 1770, married first on Sept 30, 1794: Patty Burnett (b. Nov. 8, 1769 at Warwick). He died Mar. 7, 1854 at Mentor, OH
      iv. Sarah b. May 11, 1774
      v. Silas (Mem. ID:956063380) b. June 2, 1776, married Experience Tobey (Mem. ID: 194153180)
      vi. Hannah b. Apr 27, 1780
They also had a ch. [ii.] Simeon that died in Norton Jan 31, 1769 in 8th month G.R.5, but I see no Norton Birth record there for this ch. Simeon. (Thus, their son Simeon above was the second and surviving son named Simeon)

Simeon's 1st wife, Susannah (Cobb), likely died either in or after 1780, her death is not in the Norton Vital Records. (One source noted herein estimates she died 1783 to 1788) She may have been living when her husband Simeon moved to Savoy, Berkshire County MA, sometime after his service in the Revolutionary war. He may have been granted land in Savoy for his service? Savoy Vital records are not available online.

See his DAR Ancestor #: A056219 at https://services.dar.org/Public/DAR_Research/search_adb/?action=full&p_id=A056219 which confirms his two wives, and some of his descendants.

His second wife was Sarah (Fisher), ( Memoriall ID: 71104165). Her gravestone provides her birthdate as: Jan 20, 1749 in Norton. The Norton Vital Records have a Sarah Fisher b. Jan. 13, 1749, ch. [of] Elezar and Elizebeth Fisher, and a baptized date [the same day as other siblings] of June 20, 1756, ch. [of] Eleazer. It is probable, in my opinion, that she is the same Sarah Fisher, even though the birth dates are not an exact match.

The information here in Simeon's Bio from Find a Grave Contributor Nancy (Zeise) Cloutier (#47605741), erroneously states that Simeon [Sr.] married Sally Burnett, when in fact, it was his son, Simeon. who did. The children listed of that union, would therefore , actually be his grandchildren. I don't see a findagrave memorial for Simeon Hodges [Jr.]
